3d Blocks For Autocad
I didn't realise that solids in autocad don't stretch under normal conditions, but that appears to be your problem, I would use different geometry to create the blocks, something that will respond to the stretch command. That is something you will have to figure out from the options available in Autocad as obviously you have things that I can't test in LT. But if it will stretch just in normal space then it should also work in a dynamic block.Maybe surfaces, 2D solids would definately do it but it's more work than how you are doing it now. You create a solid and when you are done you have to explode once whichcreates a mesh then you use the convert mesh to faces command to make thefaces. The only thing to concern yourself with is the tessellation numbersin options under modeling tab I believe. You want to set the numbers towhere it doesn't devide object too much. Try it out and you will see what Iam talking about.
I'm sure you can find your own path from that pointforward. Out of curiosity what object are you trying to do this with andfor what application? If you have difficulty I can give it a shot for youand tell you what works or doesn't work. I am using CADmep fabrication for HVAC. I often have to create HVAC units and VAV boxes.
At times I have to create 30 or more of them for one job because they are slightly different, such as in length and where the supply and return are. I am a revit person now working in cad and I was hoping to create something akin to families in revit. Its proving much harder than I thought.
I attached a chiller I have created that I am trying to use stretch parameters on.I have the stretch parameter set up and I can move it, problem is, it just moves, it wont stretch.
